About the event

Sound baths can trigger a phenomenon called “sound healing.”  Sound healing has been used by many cultures for thousands of years.

A sound bath can be easier than other meditative practices because it doesn’t require a lot of discipline or patience to learn how to do it — all you have to do is listen to sounds and some guided meditation or visualization through the faciliator.  This  sound bath will involve lying on a yoga mat in a relaxed position or in a seated position as you desire. (Chairs will be provided if needed).

The facilitator is trained in sound bath musical techniques and will use several instruments to create soothing, overlapping vibrations and sounds.  This instruments may include drums, Tibetan bowls, bells. chimes and other calming sounds.

These vibrations will lead you deeper into a state of contemplation or relaxation, shutting off your body’s fight-or-flight reflex.  This state of relaxation can assist you to release stuck emotions,  pain and reduce stress.

At the end of a session, your provider will guide you back to a feeling of awareness before concluding the sound bath and wishing you well on your journey.

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN YOGA MAT-IF YOU CANNOT, A POOL TOWEL WILL BE PROVIDED

**Keep in mind that sound baths aren’t a replacement for medication or therapy with a licensed mental health provider when treating anxiety or depression.
